The Temple
One of the four Char Dhams, the 12th-century Jagannath Temple towers 214 feet above Puri. Its Nilachakra is visible from every rooftop in the old town. Non-Hindus are not permitted inside the sanctum, but the temple exterior, the Ananda Bazaar and the Singhadwara are magnificent to experience.

Avoid unofficial pandas at railway station
Sample
Puri railway or airport → check-in → evening aarti at Swargadwar beach → dinner at Chung Wah.
Sakala Dhupa darshan at 6am → Ananda Bazaar mahaprasad → Gundicha temple → Loknath Mandir → evening Sandhya darshan.
Sunrise on Puri beach → drive to Konark (35 km) → Sun Temple heritage walk → Chandrabhaga beach → return.
